The Gypsy Vanner Horse was bred to pull the colorful gypsy caravans of England. The breed is half a century old, and was developed from a combination of Freisian, Clydesdale, Shire, and Dales pony blood.

The traditional Gypsy Vanner is a horse created and used by the gypsys/travellers of Ireland and Great Britain for pulling their caravan homes. They are a small draft horse with full mane, tail and feather.

The love affair between Gypsies and their horses is legendary. A vision was born over half a century ago to create a very special horse. A magical horse. A horse to pull the colorful caravans the Gypsy calls home.

Also called Gypsy Vanner, Tinker Horse, the Vanner is a relatively recent breed on paper, and their bloodlines have been carried through oral tradition from generation to generation of the families who bred them.

The names are Gypsy Cob (USA and UK), Colored Cob (UK), Gypsy Vanner (USA), Tinker Horse, Irish Gypsy Cob or Gypsy Horse. This is a multitalented horse breed. The exact origin or history of this horse breed is not known.
