The Half-Arabian is a horse with one registered purebred Arabian parent. The other parent may be any non-Arabian horse The exception is an Arabian-Thoroughbred which is registered as an Anglo-Arabian horse.

They are eligible for Morab registration, Half Morgan registration in the Archival Morgan Record, and Half Arabian registration in the Half Arabian Registry (IAHA), even though they are technically neither half Morgan nor half Arab.

Only foundation stock (first generation Morabs) can posses Morab registration, 1/2 Morgan registration in the Archival Morgan Record (AMR), and 1/2 Arabian registration in the Half Arabian Registry (IAHA).

A National Show Horse is only required to possess 50% Arabian blood. The other half can be of any other breed. This means that ALL Half Arabians are welcome. The NSHR has also streamlined the registration process.
