This is a native North Caucasian breed found mainly in the Kabardino-Balkar Autonomous Republic and in the foothills area of Stavropol territory.

Historically the breed has been known for at least 400 years, but its origins are considered to be as old as the Hittite civilisation. These horses are noted for their endurance and ease to adapt in difficult environments.

Kabarda horses are found in the Autonomous Republic Kabardino-Balkar, located in the Northern Caucasus Mountains on the western side of the former Soviet Republic.

Anglo-Kabarda
This breed was created in the northern regions of Caucasus in Russia by crossing Kabarda mares with Thoroughbred stallions at the Malokarachaevski and Malkin studs.

Anglo Kabarda Horse Breed Characteristics :
The Anglo-Kabarda Horse is a unique breed in Caucasus. It's a cross between the world's best mountain breed- Kabardian and the English Thoroughbred.

The Kabarda or Kabardian horse is a breed from the Caucasus, currently part of the Kabardino-Balkaria region of Russia and Georgia.

Anglo-Kabarda horses are well suited to the climate of the Caucasus, thriving at pasture the year round and are able to negotiate difficult mountain terrain skillfully.

The Anglo-Kabarda originated in the northern regions of Caucasus in Russia. The Anglo-Kabarda is a cross of Kabarda mares with Thoroughbred stallions. The Stallions that were of greatest importance to the breed were Lestorik, Lukki and Lok-Sen.

The Kabarda breed is typically used as a saddle horse, with an average hieght of about 150 cm. They have a solid, clean build with a moderate mane and thick tail.

In the 1960s, it was developed by breeding Russian Thoroughbred, Akhal-Teke, Sanhe, and Chinese Mongolian, after which Kabarda and Don breeding were introduced into the breed. The Xilingol stands at 15.2 hands high and come in all solid colors.

The foundation stock consisted of the Strelets stallions Tsilindr and Tsenitel and mares of the Arab-Don and Strelets-Kabarda complex.

Named after the Kabarda region where they come from which is near to the Kabkaz mountains.

The Turkish horse is descended from crosses like Turkoman, Arab, Persian, Karabakh, Akhal-Teke, Kabarda, Deliboz, Mongolian and the ancient Antolia horse.

The remaining Strelets, including the two stallions Tsenitel and Tsilindr, were taken to the Tersk stud in an attempt to increase their numbers. At the stud, the stallions were mated with Arabian, Don, Strelets, Kabarda, and various cross-bred mares, ...

It is a light horse used for both riding and draft purposes. It was developed in the 1960's from Russian Thoroughbred, Akhal-Teke, Sanhe and Chinese Mongolian, later Kabarda and Don breeding were introduced.
