The Latvian horse comes from Latvia and is split into three types: the common harness horse, a lighter riding horse and a heavier draft type.

 


Latvian belongs to the Eastern Baltic sub-group of the Baltic language group in the Indo-European language family, and it is neither Germanic, nor Slavic.

The Latvian Light Harness Horse originated in Latvia, which was formerly the U.S.S.R., in the 19th century.

The Latvian Harness horse comes from Latvia and there are three types altogether. Many other popular breeds have been introduced over the centuries.
