The Noma is a pony breed from Noma County, Japan. They originated in the 17th century from Mongolian stock, and are the smallest native ponies from that country, standing only up to 10.1 hands high.

The is a pony breed from Noma County, Japan. They originated in the 17th century from Mongolian stock, and are the smallest native ponies from that country, standing about up to 10.

The people of Noma county bred their ponies continuously pure to preserve bloodlines & in 1978 the Noma Pony Preservation Society was formed to preserve & promote the breed. Despite preservation efforts, their numbers are very low.
