- Plateau Persian -
The Plateau Persian is a relatively new breed that has developed from the Persian Arab, the Jaf, and the Darashouri. This strong, surefooted riding horse stands around 15 hh and is gray, bay, or chestnut in color.

The Bakhtiari is a variant of the Plateau Persian horse of Iran, they share a basic Oriental conformation and heritage. They are mainly bred by the Bakhtiari tribesmen in Khuzestan Province in the south of Iran.
