I own a Racking horse... they are very similar to the TWH. He is three years old, and he's a beautiful dark bay. He's a little over 16 hh, and he has the most sweet personality.
The Walking Horse and the Racking Horse are two of the most common gaited horses having lateral gaits. The only diagonal gait of the gaited horses is the Fox trot.
This puts the racking horse in the best position to rack without breaking into another gait. If the rider sits back or leans slightly back, this will encourage the hollow position.
A few are being shown in English and Western Pleasure at gaited-horse shows with great success. Some McCurdy horses are also registered as Tennessee Walking Horses and as commissioned Racking Horses.
