There is no question what the Russian Trotter is built for. The name of the breed alone strongly suggests that it is built for racing.

When the Orlov Trotter breed was crossedw ith the American Standardbred (American trotter), the Russian Trotter breed was born.
The Russian Trotters are found in colors like black, gray and chestnut. But most of them are bay colored. They have a plain head and a neck which is long and muscular. The shoulders of these trotters are long and sloppy. The chest is deep and wide.
