Spiti Horse
The Spiti horses are spread in Spiti valley and adjoining areas of Kullu and Kinnaur divisions of Himachal Pradesh. These horses are commonly known as Chamurti. In terms of height, they are smaller.

The language, culture, and populations of Lahul and Spiti are closely related.

Spiti came under the rule of the Dorga in 1846, while Lahul came under the control of the British East India Company. This was done with the help of an appointed Wazir, led by the Kolong family.

The Indian Country Bred Horse comes from the Himalayan region of India and is a combination of the Bhutia, Spiti & Tibetan pony bloodlines.
