The Waler Horse should have an overall stamp of a Thoroughbred with some, displaying Arabian, Welsh or Timor traits. The horse should be sound of wind and limb, and give an overall impression of good breeding and balance.
Now extinct purebred Waler horse was ancestry of the Australian Stock Horse, but it is believed that original bloodlines came from Arabian and Barb horses.
The Brumby is the backbone of a number of different horse types, all of which are feral. They are also likely to include descendants of the Waler Horse, Stock Horses, Anglo-Arabs, Percherons, and some pony breeds, all of which have been interbred.
