Bombarded Diamond - A diamond that has been subjected to bombardment by fast electrons, neutrons, deuterons, etc. The purpose of bombardment is to make the color of the stone more attractive and desirable. Also known as irradiation treatment.
Electron-bombarded diamond: A diamond whose color has been changed to blue by bombarding it with electrons in a Van de Graff generator. Gamma-ray radiation has also been used to produce blue colors.
