What
Commonly known as a diamond certificate, a Diamond Grading Report is an official evaluation of the various distinctive qualities of a diamond.

Diamond Certification
Loose diamonds from Diamond.com are graded by the world's most respected grading entities: the GIA (Gemological Institute of America) or AGS (American Gemological Society Laboratories).

CERTIFICATION:
A diamond certificate is a report created by a gemologist or gemological lab.

Laboratory certification provides an impartial judgment of the characteristics and quality of each diamond.

When purchasing certified diamonds it is important to understand the diamond grading criteria used by the labratories performing the certification.

Diamond certification is essential when you're buying a diamond and is different from a jeweler's appraisal, although the certification is part of any appraisal.

AGS Triple-0 Certification
The American Gem Society (AGS) is the industry leader in laboratory testing of round gems for cut grade and quality.

Certificates, Certification
Documents issued by gem labs attesting the genuineness and stating the quality of a diamond or other gemstone.

AGS Laboratories is one of the leading suppliers of diamond certifications because they include an evaluation of diamond Cut, which is currently not included by other major gemological laboratory. AGS grades and certifies Reeds' Ideal Cut diamonds.

Known as the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS), it requires that each shipment of rough diamonds - before stones are cut and polished - be in a tamper-resistant container and accompanied by a certificate of origin.

Unlike diamond certificates, which have an international certification standard (GIA), there is no corresponding internationally recognized certification for colored gemstones. We don't issue certificates with the gemstones we sell.

GIA certifications are used frequently and are highly respected by gemologists and appraisers. It's also the best report to have when insuring a diamond: Nobody argues with a GIA report! ...
