I have noticed that many macrame bracelets are designed so be tied around the wrist. Though that's okay, I wanted a design that would be easier to put on and take off.

CLASP
A clasp is a fastener that can open and close, attaching two things together (for example, the two ends of a necklace, or a pin to a garment).

A fastening mechanism that opens and closes to attach and detach the two ends of a piece of jewellery like a bracelet or necklace. The assay mark and maker's assay are usually inscribed on the clasp of a piece of jewellery.

A closure that is shaped like an "S" that holds a piece of jewelry together without hinges or other moving parts. One side of the "S" is attached with a jump ring securely and the other can be looped into an opening on the other side.

Box Clasp
A very popular for multi-strand bracelets clasp consisting of a box, tongue, snag, and trigger. Although there are several variations to the clasp's looks, all of them work on the same principal.

Box Clasp: A method of connecting two ends of a chain. One end has a box with an opening which is notched on the top of the box. The other end has a flat piece of metal which has been folded over to form a spring with a knob at the end.

Tube Clasp - This is an older vintage jewelry clasp, which was patented in 1850, and used for jewelry only until after the end of World War II. The presence of a tube clasp indicates that the jewelry is an older piece.

T-Bar Clasp Another name for a Toggle Clasp.
Thread Several fibers spun into a single strand. Beading thread is made of nylon and is used in beadweaving and loomwork.

Pearl clasp
A marquise shaped clasp that is usually filigree and has one end hook in the other and then is pushed in to lock.

Barrel Clasp Each end of the jewelry cord or nylon goes inside the barrel through aa hole and is knotted and is hidden.

SAFETY CLASP
A safety clasp is a secure type of closure on a piece of jewelry. The term safety catch is used for a variety of these closures.

BARREL CLASP
A barrel clasp is a jewelry fastener that resembles a barrel. The two pieces of this clasp screw together. It is used to attach two other rings or links of a necklace or bracelet.
