Since the times when rings were created, people have worn them for a great variety of reasons; they have been symbols of different events, things and feelings.
class ring - A ring bearing a school insignia and date of graduation.
Class Ring: A ring that commemorates graduating from high school. It is usually engraved with the name of the school, the year of graduation, and a gem featuring one of the school's colors.
CLASS RING A ring worn by graduates of high school or college depicting the school attended, graduation year, school insignia, school affiliations to teams etc and/or gemstone for the school or birth month.
People give and wear sterling rings to celebrate occasions like anniversaries; they wear wedding rings as symbols of love and devotion; or to show achievement as with class rings. Mostly we wear rings because they look great.
For many years, if the public was aware of spinel at all, it was as an imitation found in birthstone jewelry and high school class rings.
