Commercial jewelry cleaner: A solution that usually incorporates water and a mild detergent, although many often contain small amounts of ammonia.
It may be cleaned with most any commercial jewelry cleaner or mild soap and lukewarm water using a soft brush. Be sure to rinse and dry thoroughly. Some amethyst may fade if exposed to sunlight for long periods.
If using a commercial jewelry cleaner, use a brand name and follow the instructions on the label. You can also soak your diamond jewelry in a small bowl of warm, soapy water made with any mild liquid detergent.
Topaz should be cleaned with warm water and mild dishwashing detergent, or with a commercial jewelry cleaner. Avoid steam cleaning and ultrasonic cleaning, both of which can damage the color of the stone.
You can clean a diamond pretty quickly with a commercial jewelry cleaner that you either dip your jewelry in or soak them in a tub that gives it an ultrasound bath.
A thorough, soft brush scrubbing with a commercial jewelry cleaner or liquid detergent and water is appropriate to care for your gemstone. This needs to be done at intervals such as every third or fourth time you wear it.
