The Cornelian gemstones are the precious stones which are a variety of chalcedony mineral found in red color. The color is due to the deposits of iron impurities in the stone.

Carnelian is an A-grade agate. What a lot of people call "true carnelian" is the fiery red/orange color, and in theory, carnelian is naturally that color.
