CROWN:
A faceted gemstone or diamond can be divided into upper an lower sections. The upper section or top is the crown. The lower section is the pavilion. The perimeter where both parts meet is referred to as a girdle.

Table
The largest and most important facet on a round brilliant cut diamond is the table. This is the topmost facet. It is, or should be, a symmetrical octagon.
