The Eternal Cut has a total of 81 facets, 23 more than a modern Round Brilliant cut, creating a unique 'flower petal' pattern surrounding the cutlet, and a 'softer' briliance than a traditional round brilliant cut.

The preferred culet grades for a round diamond range from none to small because med to large cutlets affect the diamond's light performance.
