Faceting
Then the long and precise process begins to create the many facets that you have seen on diamonds in stores.

1) Faceting is nicely flexible time-wise, in contrast, some hobbies such as baking, require that you finish the project once it is started.

Extra facets occur as additions to the normal number of facets on a brilliant.
They can occur anywhere on a stone but are usually found in the vicinity of the girdle (Fig 323).

Facetting. The making of the facets is rather slow work, especially when, as is usually the case in making the "table" the work has to be done against one of the "hard points" of the crystal.

Extra facets: These are formed when the raw stone is being processed at cutting stage. In order to remove the natural inclusions the stone is cut that result in the extra facets (sides). It is done to enhance the clarity.
