Fair Cut Grades Fair Cut Grades (the lowest Grade) would have Girdles that are rated Extremely Thick. These types of Girdles look bulky and massive. They will stand out from a distance and draw attention.
Fair Cut: Diamonds cut to less perfect proportions. They have been cut to maximize the weight of the stone, and sacrifice fire and brilliance.

Fair cut: Typically the top 35% of diamonds are fair cut. It remains a quality cut, but is not perfect and lacks the brilliance of a good, very good or ideal cut.
Fair Cut: While still capturing some sparkle, this cut is lacking in brilliance when compared to the Good and Very Good cuts. Poor Cut: A clearly dull and lifeless diamond that sacrifices proportion and quality.
Ideal or Excellent cuts release the inner brilliance of the stone and project maximum amount of fire and sparkle where as Very Good, Good and Fair cuts loose some light that enters the diamond.
Fair cuts are still considered quality diamonds, but have considerably less brilliance than good cut grades. And a poor cut is a diamond which is off in its proportions and subsequently loses most of its light out the sides and bottom.
