Not all Diamond Color is bad. In fact, some Diamonds with Color are way more expensive than their White alternatives of the same Clarity, Cut and Carat Weight.

Rare and very expensive, colored or "fancy" diamonds are becoming ever more popular. These diamonds reflect the colors of the rainbow and dazzle in brilliant combinations of red, pink, blue, yellow, orange, green and brown.

The deposits in Montana produce a range of fancy colors, and deep blue sapphires come from one of the world's largest deposits at Yogo Gulch, where sapphires are small in size but have a beautiful blue.

It's produced in both colorless and fancy colors, and it's almost as brilliant in its sparkle as a real diamond.

Although sapphire is virtually synonymous with blue, the stone also comes in a variety of fancy colors that includes colorless/white, pink, yellow, peach, orange, brown, violet, purple, green and many shades in between (except red, ...

Fancy colors such as pink, red, blue and green are discovered each year, but they are very rare and incredibly expensive. Such fancy colors do not follow the normal color/pricing scales and are categorized separately.

"Fancy colors" are those colors outside the normal range, and are found in all colors. The most sought after are colorless, and the more intense "fancy colors", blue, pink and red.

Other colors such as green, blue, rosé and red are rarer and are collectively described as "fancy colors." The most frequent fancy colors are brownish hues and black.

Colored diamonds in the trade go under the name of "fancy colors". Because of their rarity they are held in very high esteem, especially when the color displays an intense saturation.

While sapphire has become the ultimate blue stone, it actually comes in virtually every color except red (red sapphires are rubies), including colorless and white, and such fancy colors as yellow, peach, orange, cognac, pink, violet, ...

Color: Diamonds are graded on a color scale established by the GIA. Fancy colors refer to diamonds with hues like pink, blue, green, yellow, and very rarely red. Fancy colors are not included in this color scale and are considered extremely rare.

Naturally black Akoya (saltwater) or freshwater pearls do not exist in nature, and these fancy colors are artificially infused by treatments such as dying, or by subjecting the pearls to irradiation.

A few localities: the Umba river deposit with its beautiful fancy colors. From 1994 Songea's pastel colored stones became available and from 1995 the Tunduru deposits were worked and brought the world more blues, purples, pinks and greens.

The deposits in Montana in the United States produce a range of fancy colors, mostly from alluvial deposits in the rivers, and deep blue sapphires from one of the world's largest deposits at Yogo Gulch.

Diamonds whose color intensity is outside the normal range are called fancy colors and come in about any color you can imagine (e.g., pink, red, green, purple, black, blue, yellow and more).

Diamonds occur in colorless and near colorless forms as well as rare fancy colors. Both color enhanced and synthetic diamonds are available as well as many diamond simulants, chief among them being cubic zirconia.

Diamonds are found in all of the colors of the rainbow and some of the intense fancy colors also demand extremely high prices. The fire, also known as the brilliance of a Diamond makes it the choice of jewelers when designing fine jewelry.

Additionally, small pinpoints or feathers do not usually affect fancy colors due to the deeper coloring of the diamond. Fancy diamonds of VS or better clarity are more uncommon in nature and therefore command a greater price.

Diamonds with distinct tints other than the normal colors are classified as Fancy colors. The term White Diamond is interchangeably used for colorless diamond.

Grading color in the normal range involves deciding how closely a stone's bodycolor approaches colorlessness. Most diamonds have at least a trace of yellow or brown bodycolor. With the exception of some natural fancy colors, such as blue, pink, ...

The fancy-shaped Heart diamond is for the confident woman who is all heart. While sometimes selected for engagement rings, it makes a beautiful choice for pendants in fancy colors such as yellow, pink or red.

Sapphires occur in many different colors but the most famous and valuable of sapphires is a rich intense blue. The others colors will be referred to as «fancy colors».

Other sources of Sapphire are Thailand, Australia, and Cambodia. Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, China, Vietnam, Madagascar, and the US also produce some sapphire. The deposits in Montana in the US produce a range of fancy colors.

It is excellent, however, for colorless stones and when it is desirable to emphasize the color of fancy colors.

Sapphires that have secondary colors that are significant should be classified "greenish-blue" or "purplish-blue" "violet" etc. These are not "blue sapphires", rather they are "unique" or sometimes called "fancy colors".

The emerald cut is seldom used for diamonds in the intermediate color grades, since it tends to emphasize color. It is excellent, however, for colorless stones and when it is desirable to emphasize the color of fancy colors.

Natural fancy colors are graded according to their intensity of color. Pinks and blues command the highest prices.
