Half-drilled bead Beads with a hole that goes only half-way through, instead of all the way through like a normal bead. There are many findings that are made to take a half-drilled beads, like ring settings and earring posts.

 


Half-Drilled Bead: A ball with a hole drilled only half way through.
Hat pin: Long metal pin with an ornamental head used to fasten a woman's hat by passing the pin through her hat and hair.

A half-drilled Pearl, as the name implies has a hole drilled from the surface to the center so the pearl may be cemented to a metal post to permanently secure it to the finished piece of jewelry.
