LASER INSCRIPTION:
The process of using a micro-laser beam to etch a microscopic inscription onto the girdle of a diamond. The inscription may be the diamond's certificate number, a brand logo, or even a personal message.

The laser inscription is microscopic -- totally invisible to the naked eye. It can only be seen with a jewelers' 10x magnifying loupe. Laser inscription does not change the color grade or clarity grade of a diamond.

Lasering
There is actually another form of clarity enhancement which we believe to be reasonably acceptable, although it did cause some controversy when it was originally introduced, and that is lasering.
Laser Drilling
This enhancement treatment technique has been found way back in 1980. Since then it has been successfully used for enhancing the clarity of diamonds.
Lasering dissipates the internal blemishes within the diamond and can improve the stones clarity but it also leaves a visible conduit line within the diamond.

While laser drilling and fracture filling are used to improve a diamond's clarity, high pressure / high temperature (HPHT) treatments are used to improve color by removing brown colorations from the diamond.

Occasionally, to improve appearance, diamonds are laser-drilled and, sometimes, a foreign substance is used to fill surface cavities or fractures. Diamonds may also be irradiated and/or heated to induce "fancy" colors.
The individual pieces (an Italian charm) are available as enamel hand-painted, laser etched, and photo charms and are compatible across most major brands. All quality Italian charm link bases are made of stainless steel.

Dichroic Glass - Dichoric glass was originally created for the space and laser industries, and was developed extensively by NASA. The word dichroic means "two colors" because of the two or more colors that the glass reflects and transmits.
The striations, which to some observers have the appearance of being lasered onto the crystals, contain this knowledge.
