Madeira Citrine ...

Although the darker, orange colors of citrine, sometimes called Madeira citrine after the color of the wine, has generally been the most valued color, in modern times, many people prefer the bright lemony shades which mix better with pastel colors.

28.34 ct. radiant diamond shape madeira citrine.

Citrine - It is a bright translucent yellow coloured gem. It is most confused as Topaz. Smoky Citrine is a type of quartz sold as citrine. Madeira citrine, Topaz quartz are few unreal names for this gemstone.

Citrine can vary in color from a sunny lemon yellow to orange brown. Dark brownish-orange stones are described as "Rio Grande Citrine" or "Madeira citrine" for golden brown shades.

This stone is particularly brilliant and best emulates nature's orange. Other shades of orange are achieved using the strikingly vivid orange sapphire (a rare cousin to the popular blue sapphire), Madeira citrine and fire opals.

Heating amethyst to a slightly higher temperature in the 500 to 575°C region intensifies the yellow color converting it to the deeper orange brown or reddish color of citrine sometimes called Madeira citrine.
