PIETERSITE
Gemstone Physical Composition: There are currently only two known sources of Pietersite, namely China and Namibia in Africa. Each source is similar but distinct in character.

Pietersite. Rare variation of tigers eye. Usually brown but rare stones are a grey-black or blue-black. Physical protection, especially for the eyes. Focuses the inner eye, enabling the wearer to explore themselves emotionally.

Pietersite
This beautiful variety of tigereye was first discovered by Sid Pieters in 1962 while prospecting farmland. It is most commonly found in Namibia, South Africa, and in 1993 was found near Nanyang, Henan, China.

[Tiger iron, Pietersite]
As the gem forms it is generally a blue-grey-green color, but when subjected to oxidizing conditions the iron in the crystals turns gold.

Pietersite Crystallizes in the form of masses, the structure a result of inclusions in jasper where the inclusions are pseudomorphs after asbestos. The color is blue/black and the mineral exhibits a chatoyant quality.
