Platinum purity
Platinum purity is expressed differently than gold. Instead of expressing purity in ratios of 24 parts, platinum standards are expressed as units of 1,000 parts.
The most regular platinum purities seen are: ...

Platinum Purity
Platinum, with its beautiful white luster, is the purest of all the precious metals used for fine jewelry. This grayish white to silver gray metal is harder than gold and very durable with a hardness of 4-4.

Silver and platinum purity stamps are much like those for gold but the pictorials c.q. numericals are different. The phrase "sterling" is stamped on many post-1870 USA pieces.

Much like gold, platinum purity and alloys are commonly stamped, in abbreviated fashion, on items. Unlike gold, purity is given relative to 1000 parts (permil), e.g. "950Plat" is 95% pure platinum.
