Pteria penguin Mollusc used to produce mabe pearls. Also called "penguin shell," "mabe shell," the "wing shell," the "black wing shell," or the "gold wing shell.
Oyster Pteria Penguin produces such pearls in its shell not body. These pearls are usually flat at one end and fragile. This is because they are made by filling in a cavity and packed with mother of pearl.
