Riveting: A method of joining two flat objects together by making a hole in each piece, then passing a pin with a large flat head, (composed of the same metal as the piece), through the holes. The pin is then pounded flat to secure it in place.

Joining to components without the use of heat and solder, or chemicals, like glue. "A rivet is a short length of rod that holds two or more pieces together by trapping them between upset heads, or lumps on each end.

Riviere - Single strand necklace of equally sized and cut gemstones.

Riveting: fastening parts together by pins through holes in parts, the ends of pins hammered into form of heads larger than the holes.

Sanding: The process after filing, in which the file marks are removed from the piece.

Look at the riveting. Old rivets look their age, and you should be wary of sharp new work.

No soldering is required to make these metal necklaces, rings, bracelets, and earrings; they're cold-connected, or crafted with such easy-to-learn skills as piercing, sawing, riveting, and joining, making them perfect for the beginning jeweler.

The studs were mounted onto one or more base plates by riveting them through minuscule holes in the plate. Using several base plates gave the piece depth. The use of different sizes studs made a cut steel jewel more brilliant.

Soldering, riveting, and working the metal after it had been sintered to its final form.
