Sunburst: A jewelled brooch representing the sun with up to 32 projecting rays, usually with a cluster of central gemstones. Sometimes referred to as 'sun-in-splendour' jewellery.

 


Fire opals are appropriately named for their fiery cherries, sunburst yellows and deep tangerines. Unique and mysterious, fire opal is remarkable in that unlike many other opals its play of color is minimal.

Sunburst: A jeweled brooch or pendant-brooch that was popularized during the Victorian era. The sunbursts were crafted mainly in gold with seed pearl or diamond accents.

The sunburst was drawn from Aztec art, and African tribal masks were a major influence.

A concha is a hammered silver disk or oval that often resembles a shell, flower, or sunburst. Conchas often have raised designs (repoussage).
