The tag code may be used to describe "synthetic" materials that have essentially the same optical, physical and chemical properties as a naturally occurring counterpart.

Synthetic stone: Synthetic stones are man made gemstones, usually produced in a laboratory, which imitate the characteristics of naturally occurring gems.

Synthetic Stone Certain hard minerals are found with beautiful colors and are cut into stones to mimic the real gems. They are not glass. They are a higher quality mineral.
