Designer gemstone created by by Azotic Coating Technology Inc. The gemstone is created by applying a tiny layer of titanium to the underside of a natural white topaz.
For example, some jewelry items are coated with colors to reduce or improve their shininess and some gemstones, such as white topaz, have an overlay to produce certain colors. Ultrasonic cleaning can remove this coating and harm that overlay.
Mot topaz mined is completely colorless and transparent. A very slight pale grey blue color is also found in abundance in nature; however, most blue and dark blue topaz sold today is actually irradiated white topaz.
