Yowah Nut
A form of Boulder Opal from Yowah (Queensland), Australia. It occurs most often as a nut-sized ironstone nodule containing pockets and veins of vivid Precious Opal.

The Yowah nuts were once hollow ironstone concretions about the size of a walnut, and sometimes these contained brilliant opal cores.
Depending on the kind, place of occurrence, and colour of the main body, we differentiate Dark or Black Opal, White or Light Opal, Milk or Crystal Opal, Boulder Opal, Opal Matrix, Yowah Nuts from Queensland - the so-called 'picture stones', ...
Several lesser areas in Queensland - noted for "Boulder Opal" (see above) and "Yowah nuts"; hollow, walnut-sized ironstone concretions.
