Annotated codes Practicing lawyers who can afford them almost always use an annotated version of the U.S. Code from a private company. The two leading annotated versions are the United States Code Annotated, abbreviated as U.S.C.A.
Annotated code: A version of a code, which in addition to the text of the law includes references to law review articles, other relevant statues or regulations, and cases discussing or interpreting a particular section of the code.
