bankruptcy estate
All of the property you own when you file for bankruptcy, except for most pensions and educational trusts. The trustee technically takes control of your bankruptcy estate for the duration of your case.

A trustee is appointed to conduct an impartial administration of the bankrupt's nonexempt assets, known as the bankruptcy estate.

trustee: (1) The person that has custody of or control over funds or items for the benefit of another; (2) in a bankruptcy case, a person appointed to represent the interests of the bankruptcy estate and the unsecured creditors.

Estate:
Under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, the name given to the file or bankruptcy estate.
Estoppel:
A person's own acts, statement of facts or acceptance of facts which preclude his later making claims to the contrary.
