Bill Of Particulars A document, written by a plaintiff or prosecutor at the request of a defendant in a civil or criminal action, that sets out detailed information about the claims or charges being brought against the defendant.

 


Bill Of Particulars
(n) Bill of Particulars is the informal detailing of the claim or demand amount made by a party which assists the defendant to study and evaluate the basis of the claim. Eg.

BILL OF PARTICULARS - A detailed informal statement of a plaintiff's cause of action, or of the defendants's set-off.

Bill of Particulars: The formal title for information attached to a complaint or petition.
Biological Parent: A parent by blood.

bill of particulars In a criminal case, a written statement specifying the facts on which the prosecution intends to rely to prove the crime charged; a form of discovery in a criminal case and available to the defendant upon request.

Bill of Particulars:
A form of discovery in which the prosecution sets forth the time, place, manner and means of the commission of the crime as alleged. The purpose is to give notice to the accused so that he may prepare a defense.

not vouched by bill of particulars and receipt, of any claim for expenses not sent in in due time, or of any such claim after the time allowed for payment thereof.

When these are detailed in an orderly form for the purpose of informing a defendant, the statement is called a bill of particulars.
