Civil Procedure
It refers to all the methods, practise and procedure which is processed in order to prepare oneself for a civil case in the court.

CIVIL STATE - The union of individual men in civil society under a system of laws and a magistracy, or magistracies, charged with the administration of the laws.

Parliament gives the Queen and other senior members of the Royal Family an annual sum of money or grant for carrying out official duties. This is called the civil list.

Civil Action: A term used to describe court cases that are not criminal; lawsuits involving private parties or the government, usually fall under the civil action category. Cases involving personal injury lawyers are generally civil actions.

Civil Law: That part of the law which governs relationships between people where there is no criminal activity involved.

Civil Lawsuit: A lawsuit in which one does not need to prove criminal liability.

Damages - A sum of money awarded by the Court as compensation to the claimant.

civil/criminal: civil cases typically are disputes between persons or entities (like corporations or governments) in which the remedy sought is money damages, or sometimes an order that the defendant do or refrain from doing certain acts.

Civil case/civil suit : A lawsuit is called a civil case when it is between two or more individuals or corporations involved in a dispute and usually seeking a judgment awarding monetary damages.

Civil: Non-criminal. Civil law covers any matter which is not concerned with crime. For example, important branches of the civil law are concerned with marriage and divorce, property, wills and negligence.

Civil action -An action brought to enforce or protect private rights.
Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) -A commission which promotes and regulates the civil air transport industry in the U.S. and between the U.S. and foreign countries.

Civil - not criminal. In a civil action, one person or entity is suing another, usually for money damages.

Civil law:
Law inspired by old Roman Law, the primary feature of which was that laws were written into a collection; codified, and not determined, as is common law, by judges.

Civil Case - A case between two parties to remedy a private wrong.
Clerk - One who keeps the records of all proceedings, exhibits and administers the oath to jurors and witnesses. Official custodian of the court's records.

Concerned with the relationship between individuals. A civil action is generally brought by the person who has been injured or otherwise suffered loss as the result of a wrong which only directly affected him (e.g. trespass to private land).
