Dependent Claim: This is a claim that makes express reference to and depends on a prior claim and, thereby, incorporates by reference all of the recitals of the prior claim.

DEPENDENT CLAIMS - (patent) A dependent claim incorporates each of the limitations of a previous claim but also contains additional limitations not found in the other claim.

Dependent - One who derives existence and support from another.
Deposition - Testimony of a witness or a party taken under oath outside the courtroom, the transcript of which becomes a part of the court's file.

dependent child - A child who is homeless or without proper care through no fault of the parent, guardian, or custodian.

Dependent: Someone who relies upon another for his partial or total support and maintenance. (A spouse or minor child is referred to as a dependent.)
