Felo de se From LoveToKnow 1911 FELO DE SE (M.L. a felon, i.e. murderer, of himself), one who commits murder upon himself. The technical conditions of murder apply to this crime; e.g.
FELO DE SE, criminal law. A felon of himself; a self-murderer. 2. To be guilty of this offence, the deceased must have had the will and intention of committing it, or else be committed no crime.
Historically, suicide was known by the Latin expression felo de se or felonia de se.
