Final Judgment
(n) Final Judgment is the written order of a judge in a lawsuit which is legally binding on the parties involved in the suit, superseding all interim orders if any issued by that court, unless it is set aside by higher court.
FINAL JUDGMENT RULE - The general rule that appeals can only be taken from a final judgement. An appeal from most pretrial orders is typically considered interlocutory, and, therefore, not appealable as a final decision under 28 U.S.C. S 1291.
