Foreperson : Often called the "presiding juror." At the beginning of deliberations, the jury votes to select one of its members to be the foreperson.

 


foreperson: a member of a jury, usually the first juror called and sworn, or a juror elected by fellow jurors, who delivers the verdict to the court
forum: A judicial tribunal or a place of jurisdiction. A meeting for discussion.

foreperson: When the jury first meets to decide a case, they vote to pick 1 member of the jury as their foreperson.

the written decision of a Grand Jury (signed by the Grand Jury foreperson) that it has heard sufficient evidence from the prosecution to believe that an accused person probably committed a crime and should be indicted.

Someone who directs and supervises workers: boss, director, foreman, foreperson, forewoman, head, overseer, superintendent, supervisor, taskmaster, taskmistress. Informal straw boss. Slang chief. See over/under.
