LIBERTAS - Lat. Used in two senses: The freedom of the Church from secular interference, "Libertas ecclesiae."; "freedom under Divine LAW," only found within the Church and according to its' precepts.
Libertas inaestimabilis res est. Liberty is an inestimable good. Dig. 50, 17, 106. Liberum corpus aestimationem non recipit. The body of a freeman does not admit of valuation.
libertas, from liber, free), generally the state of freedom, especially opposed to subjection, imprisonment or slavery, or with such restricted or figurative meaning as the circumstances imply.
