(n) Lis Pendence is the notification made to refer the existence of a legal suit, pending legal claim in the property under reference. The Latin word means suit pending with reference to that property.

Lis Pendens
A legal notice recorded to show pending litigation relating to real property and giving notice that anyone acquiring an interest in said property subsequent to the date of the notice may be bound by the outcome of the litigation.

A pending suit. Jurisdiction, power, or control which courts acquire over property in a suit pending action and until final judgment.
