Officer
Any individual appointed or elected in a government or corporate office and who holds the postion of trust, responsibility, integrity and command.

Officer: The managers of a corporation such as the President, CFO, and Secretary. The officers are appointed by the board of directors.

An officer of a court usually authorized to determine depositive matters. This can include judges, magistrates and such, but not usually clerks.

Accounting Officers are responsible for the Estimates. Usually the Permanent Secretary of the relevant government department.
