Stipulation
An agreement between all parties to a hearing. For example, the parties might stipulate to some or all of the facts, and therefore will not have to present evidence about those facts.

A stipulation may lawfully be introduced for the continuance of the partnership after the death of one of the parties, either by his executors or administrators, or for the admission of one or more of his children into the concern.

"The stipulation that time shall be of the essence of the agreement does not mean that, if either party fails to complete within the time specified, the agreement shall be at an end.

Formerly it was necessary to keep a number of terms at one of the Inns in London - the stipulation dating as far back as 1 54 2 (33 Henry VIII. c. 3).
