Yeas and nays

YEAS AND NAYS. The list of members of a legislative body voting in the affirmative and negative of a proposition is so called.

'Congress was also invested with power to adjourn for any time not exceeding six months, and to any place within the United States and provision was made for the publication of its journal, and for entering the yeas and nays thereon, ...

But in all such cases the votes of both houses shall be determined by yeas and nays, to be entered on the journal of each house respectively.
