Brand Development Index (BDI)
A measure of the relationship of a specific brand's sales to population in a specific geographic area. The BDI is derived by dividing an area's percent of total U.S. sales by that area's percent of population.

 


brand development index (BDI) - An index that is calculated by taking the percentage of a brand's total sales that occur in a given market as compared to the percentage of the total population in the market.

Brand Development Index - a ratio of brand consumption intensity to population intensity by country, state, city, region, etc.

"Brand Development Index". A BDI study analyses brand performance (sales) in a given market relative to the share of the total population living in that market.

Brand development index (BDI) A comparison of the percent of a brand's sales in a market to the percent of the national population in that same market. Brand manager Person who has marketing responsibilities for a specific brand.
