The brand mark is a design element, such as a symbol (e.g., Nike swoosh ), logo (e.g., Yahoo! graphic), a character (e.g., Keebler elves) or even a sound (e.g., Intel inside sound), that provides visual or auditory recognition for the product.

 


Brand Mark - the part of a brand which can be seen but not spoken; the logo, symbol or design that forms part of the brand.
Brand Monopoly - a circumstance in which a particular brand dominates a market.

Facebook's engagement ads are targeted directly at large brand marketers. They are the advertisements that show up on the homepage and enable users to interact directly with a brand.

Branding involves researching, developing and implementing brand names, brand marks, trade characters and trademarks. Branding is the art and cornerstone of marketing.

Whereas much online activity is geared towards direct marketing, sponsorships add the element of brand marketing.
