broadcast television A method of distributing television signals by means of stations that broadcast signals over channels assigned to specific geographic areas.
Each broadcast television station is permitted to operate on only one channel. Channels are assigned geographically to minimize interference between stations.
Infomercial A program-length TV advertisement (most often, 30 minutes in length) for a specific good or service that airs on cable television or on broadcast television at a fringe time.
