Lithography
A printing method in which the printing and non-printing areas exist on the same plane, as opposed to a bi-levelled reproduction.

Lithography: A printing process in which an image to be lithographed is created on the plate with greasy material that repels water. Water is run over the plate, and the non-image areas absorb it.

Offset lithography A planographic printing process. A photographic image from a printing plate is transferred to a rubber blanket, which, in turn, transfers or prints the image onto the paper.

offset (or offset lithography): A printing process that involves the transfer of wet ink from a (usually photosensitized) printing plate onto an intermediate surface (such as a rubber-coated cylinder) and then onto the paper.

Offset A printing process that transfers an image to the paper using ink (and not laser printing). The term is an abbreviated one for offset lithography.
