Often described as ´salesmanship in print´. Direct mail (or a mailer as it is known in the marketing industry) is a personally addressed advertising piece sent through the post.A personalised advertisement sent through the post.
Mailer-daemon - Software in a mail server responsible for message delivery. When you get a MAILER-DAEMON@whatevercompany.
MAILER - A mailed advertisement.
MAILING LIST - A list of prospective customers organized by defined factors such as location, income, or other consumer profile aspect.
MAIL ORDER - Retail sales conducted by mail.
Self-Mailer
An advertising piece that is sent by mail, but which does not require an envelope. The addressing and postal payment information is printed on the outside of the piece.

Self-mailer " A piece of direct mail without an envelope. Technically, this can include catalogs, booklets, slim-jims, folded mailers, and postcards. However, the term usually refers to a folded mailer.

You also want a mailer that will go to the boss, and not be tossed by a screener. Therefore, choose mailers ranging from personal letters to large packets containing useful information.
A worthwhile service for mailers. Net names The actual names used in a mailing, after removing the duplicates and matches to your customer list. In some cases, you can rent names on a net-name basis.
